Kaanapali Coffee Farms

Ka‘anapali Coffee Farms occupies a piece of what was once a vast sugar cane plantation run by Pioneer Mill of Lahaina and Ka‘anapali. Now smaller farms line the slopes in a lovely emerald patchwork. Just 4 miles downhill, the storied Ka'anapali Resort hosts pleasure-seekers from around the globe.
Ka‘anapali Coffee Farms is a private agricultural community that weaves contemporary island living into the rich farming culture of West Maui. On 336 acres upslope from Ka‘anapali Resort, 4-to 7-acre Farm Lots are now available in a limited offering.
In keeping with the district's agricultural intent, each lot is a part of a working coffee farm. A veteran team of local farmers grows, harvests and markets the coffee crop on your estate, leaving you and your family the time to enjoy life in this remarkable corner of Paradise.
Each lot offers panporamic 360 degree views of ocean, the islands of Molokai and Lanai, and upslope to the West Maui Mountains. On your Farm Lot, a "Farm Dwelling Site" of roughly one acre will be set aside for your exclusive use.
You may build a main farm house and a second farm dwelling of up to 1000 square feet. You may also build a barn, workshop or other out-building that relates to the farming operation. The community's Design Guidelines will ensure that all construction supports the agricultural land use and will help keep the neighborhood architecture appropriate and pleasing.
Most of the acreage beyond the Farm's Dwelling Sites will be planted in coffee trees. Kaanapali Farm Services, Inc. tends the crop and MauiGrown Coffee, Inc. harvests it under contracts with the community's Association. Once harvested, the crop belongs to MauiGrown Coffee which will typically mill it into "green coffee" then sell it to roasters or wholesalers. |
